How much does a harpist cost for a funeral?

Funeral and memorial services are from £250, including travel within 70 miles of Windsor. Reception music is quoted individually.

Can you play a specific piece?

Yes. Hymns, traditional melodies and classical pieces are all possible, and I will learn a specific song with a week's notice.

Crematoria, churches, natural burial grounds, graveside services, hotels and private homes. I bring a small amplifier for outdoor services.

How much notice do you need?

I can often take bookings at a few days' notice and I liaise directly with the celebrant or funeral director.

Harp music for funerals and memorials

Gentle, live harp music for funerals, memorial services and celebrations of life. I am a professional harpist based in Slough, near Windsor and I play at services across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Oxfordshire and London, including weekdays and at short notice.

What I play

Most families ask for a mix of hymns, traditional melodies and quiet classical pieces. Popular choices include Abide with Me, The Lord Is My Shepherd, Ar Hyd y Nôs (All Through the Night), Pachelbel's Canon, Bach's Air, and Fauré's Pavane. If there is a song that meant something to your loved one, I will arrange it for harp with a week's notice.

A typical service includes music as guests arrive, one piece during the service (often during a reflection or the committal) and music as guests leave. I can also play background music at the reception or wake.

How it works

Send me the date, time and venue and I will confirm availability the same day. I liaise directly with your celebrant or funeral director so the music fits the order of service, and I arrive at least an hour before the service begins. I play at crematoria, churches, chapels, hotels and private homes, and indoors at natural burial grounds where there is a suitable space. I do not play at the graveside, as the harp cannot be used outdoors. I need a level space of about two metres by two metres.

Funeral and memorial services are from £500, including travel within 70 miles of Slough. Reception music and longer bookings are quoted individually. I can invoice the funeral director directly if that is easier for the family.
