Harpist in London for weddings and events

I am Anna Phillips, a Royal Academy of Music trained harpist based in Slough, near Windsor, forty minutes from central London by car. I play for weddings, drinks receptions, private dinners, hotel afternoon teas and corporate events across the capital, from Mayfair and St James's to the City, Kensington and the Docklands.

Where I have played in London

My London work has included the Sofitel London St James Hotel, The Chesterfield Mayfair and the Royal Automobile Club on Pall Mall, as well as Waterstones on Kensington High Street, the Southbank Centre, Wigmore Hall and Sinfonia Smith Square as a performer. I know how central venues work: tight load-in windows, lifts, porters and the need to be set up before guests arrive.

Weddings in London

For a ceremony I arrive about an hour ahead, play as guests are seated, then the processional, the signing and the recessional. Most couples ask me to continue through the drinks reception. I need a level space of about two metres by two metres.

Corporate and private events

Background harp music suits receptions, product launches, client dinners, Christmas parties and afternoon teas. A typical booking is one to three hours with short breaks, playing a mix of classical pieces, jazz standards, film themes and pop songs arranged for harp. Requests are welcome with a few weeks' notice.

Prices in central London

My packages start at £500 for a ceremony or a 75-minute reception and £1,150 for a full wedding day. Travel is included within 70 miles of Windsor, which covers all of Greater London. Central London bookings are quoted with Congestion Charge, and parking added at cost, because a concert harp cannot travel by tube. I will always confirm the full figure in writing before you book.

Do you play outdoors or on roof terraces? Yes, on level ground with cover for the harp.

How much space do you need? About two metres by two metres.

Can you play a specific song? Yes. Send it a few weeks ahead and I will arrange it for harp.

How far ahead should we book? Saturdays from May to September go a year ahead. Weekday corporate dates are often available at shorter notice.
