Wedding harpist in Oxfordshire

I am Anna Phillips, a Royal Academy of Music trained harpist based in Slough, near Windsor. Henley-on-Thames is half an hour away and Oxford under an hour, so the whole county sits comfortably inside the 70 miles of Windsor that every package covers with travel included. A live harp gives a ceremony a calm, elegant sound that recorded music cannot match, and it looks as beautiful as it sounds in your photographs.

Where I play in Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire's college chapels, riverside hotels, tithe barns and Cotswold-stone manor houses are made for the harp. I play from Henley, Goring and Wallingford along the Thames to Oxford, Woodstock, Abingdon, Thame and the Cotswold villages around Burford and Chipping Norton. If your venue is new to me, I will speak to the coordinator in advance about access and where the harp will sit.

How a wedding ceremony runs

I arrive about an hour before your guests and play for up to thirty minutes as they take their seats. I then play your chosen processional as you walk in, music while you sign the register, and a joyful piece as you walk out together. Many couples ask me to carry on through the drinks reception, and the wedding breakfast can be covered too. I need a level space of about two metres by two metres, and if you would like me to play outdoors, I would need adequate cover to provide shade.

Music

My repertoire runs from Pachelbel, Bach and Debussy to folk melodies, film themes and pop songs arranged for harp, including Welsh classics such as Ar Lan y Môr from my album Rhapsodie. If you have a song that matters to you, I will arrange it for your day with a few weeks' notice. You can hear me on the Listen page.
